You've Got the Power!

You've Got the Power!

There’s a massive tree in my front yard. It shades the entire house and most of the sidewalk. So much so that it is the favorite parking spot for the apartments across the street and the neighbors next door.

The Sacramento summers are almost always triple digits. So we thought about getting solar panels for the house. The solar company did a satellite view of our house told us that our house was not a good candidate for solar because of the tree.

If we cut the tree down we could move forward with the solar. We gave this some thought. However, the impact of us taking down the tree was too great. There are squirrels, humming birds, wood peckers and other small creatures that depend on that tree for home, protection and food. And although it is a pain in the rear to rake leaves and endure the inconvenience of people parking in front of the house, we decided to let the tree stand.

Think about it. We have more power than we realize. Every action we take, the things we say, and the choices we make, have the power to impact our lives and the lives of others around us.
